Production Supplies &
Replenishment

A working inventory system for managing recurring production supplies: what is on hand, what needs to be ordered, what is already coming, and what future demand is likely to require.

01
The Starting Point

A count sheet could show what was there. Ordering still depended on local knowledge.

The existing inventory sheet was primarily used to confirm physical and consignment counts. It could show the item, quantity, location, and cost, but it did not provide the supplier, lead time, reorder point, or purchasing history needed to decide what should happen next.

That left a large part of replenishment dependent on departmental knowledge and repeated searches through prior requisitions. The work area had also experienced shortages of essential supplies as well as excess purchases that remained unused for years.

I turned the weekly count into an operating system for replenishment rather than a record of inventory alone.

Portfolio Demo

A weekly action view, rebuilt for a fictional fashion and beauty operation.

The original system manages production consumables in manufacturing. This portfolio version uses synthetic lifestyle-brand products, supplies, vendors, costs, and purchase activity to demonstrate the same planning logic in a different industry context.

Cost & Inventory Quality

Replenishment also created a better way to see what should no longer be there.

With item-level cost and purchasing information in one place, the system made it easier to review year-over-year price changes, duplicate purchasing risk, and inventory that had remained on hand without being used.

The current system is maintained through weekly physical counts and purchasing updates. The portfolio demo extends the original concept with product-driven quarterly supply requirements to show how the same data model can support more forward-looking planning.
